LemonBottle's ingredients vary from bottle to bottle, according to Swissmedic Lab findings.

The Lemon Bottle treatment has gone viral with its claims to dissolve fat, promising miracle results.

You may have even seen the viral TikTok videos of people dissolving bacon fat to demonstrate potential fat reducing outcomes.

But does it really work? And more importantly, is it safe?

Swissmedic Warning

On 26th March 2024, a press release with concerns over Lemon Bottle treatment was issued by the Federal Council of Switzerland based on findings from Swissmedic (the national authority for drugs and medicinal products).

The concerns were so significant that the product is now illegal for use in Switzerland and must not be available on the market or used in the country. The press release noted the following;

No medicinal effect has been scientifically proven. Moreover, none on the declared ingredients could be detected by the Swissmedic laboratory in the samples of “Lemon Bottle” lipolysis solution obtained from various sources.

Listed ingredients allegedly include bromelain, lecithin and riboflavin, in addition to a number of natural ingredients.

Swissmedic laboratory testing found that not only were these ingredients missing, but ingredients varied from bottle to bottle. One sample contained only caffeine!

What makes fat dissolving treatments safe or unsafe?

Fat dissolving is a medical treatment, not cosmetic.

Unfortunately as Lemon Bottle is marketed as a cosmetic treatment, it slips through the cracks and isn't held to the usual standards of medical treatments, especially injectables.

Questions you should ask when assessing if a treatment is safe include:

  • Is the full ingredient list available?

  • Has the product and its treatment protocols been peer reviewed (endorsed by accredited Scientists)?

  • Has there been research and safety testing e.g. clinical trials?

  • Has it passed relevant regulations?

  • Where can the product be purchased, is it accessible anywhere or only to trained professionals?

  • What do the medical and aesthetic community feel about the treatment, are the experts excited about this treatment or have they raised concerns?

So, is Lemon Bottle treatment safe?

Using the above guidelines, Lemon Bottle treatment cannot be considered safe at this moment in time.

I don't believe Lemon Bottle treatments to be safe, and wouldn't use the treatment.

At Dr Knowles Aesthetics we only ever offer you treatments that meet the above criteria, and that to the best of our knowledge (with the available evidence) is safe and proven to demonstrate the results they claim.
